Taonga Ukura™ collection
‘Puruku’ are cross blown instruments modeled from the large gourd or hue. A personal development on the puruhau with more notes to favor dynamic range of tones bringing out the full sound of the instrument. They are blown in the same way one would a Japanese shakuhatchi or Polynesian bamboo flute. The sound produced is a deep and sonorous voice that fills any room with resonance. The puruku is the perfect healing tool likened to the effects of tuning forks, the sound is boundless reverberating through form and matter.
